NURTURING THE ARTS

The Apex Arts Council (AAC) is a nonprofit organization that supports all artistic disciplines, including visual art, music, dance, theatre and literary arts. We are committed to enhancing the quality of life in our community through the cultivation of creativity, excellence, and diversity in the arts and stimulating their appreciation and accessiblity.

Follow the links on this site to find out more about the AAC, and please visit us again in the future to keep up-to-date with the arts in Apex, NC.

The AAC was founded on the belief that the arts contribute to high quality of living and are an essential component to a vibrant economy. Partnering with the Town of Apex, North Carolina, the AAC is working to support plans, publicity and fundraising for the new Performing and Cultural Arts Center in downtown Apex. Other plans call for the creation of a Neighborhood Arts Program to involve our community in area performances and presentations of various artists; the development of a fall arts festival; and the publication of an informative arts newsletter.

The council exists to serve the residents of Apex by:

  • working with businesses, the community, and artists to coordinate and provide public art settings within the Apex community ;
  • stimulating and encouraging the development of arts and cultural projects and activities which will serve to educate the community in arts and culture ;
  • receiving and distributing information on arts and cultural programs and activities in the local community; and
  • supporting local and emerging artists and arts organizations by providing opportunities for them to show or perform their work.

Stay tuned for more details.
