We (ACT!) currently have a few opportunities to be seen and to fund
raise. The following events are still in ACT! planning stages and we need your help to get these great events off the ground. Join us and help make ACT! get their name out there and drum up support!
Join us if you have the will, the strength and the determination...or if you are lacking in those areas, just come out and support this budding community theatre :)
The Art Along the Trail (White Oak Entrance). There will be an area in the "grassy knoll" that will be in the likeness of a theatre in the round. Any suggestions on pieces, plays, sketches? Allareas of expertise are needed.
Murder Mystery Train at Hope Valley Rail Road. If you'veever partaken in a murder mystery then you know how much fun it canbe. This is a first for the RailRoad and would like to work with ACT! to create an experience like no other. The preliminary setup is this (and is subject to change): the partrons (with some actors sprinkled in) will have wine and hors d'oevres, then a shot rings out (which cues the actors). At which time the actors and patrons will take a train ride to search for clues (this gives caterers time to set up the dinner). Once the train ride is complete the puzzle begins to unfold. By the end of dinner an arrest will be made (hopefully by a real sheriff-oh! my!). Actors, make-up artists, props masters, and other helpers will be needed to pull this one off. Boy will this one be fun or what!!!
Salem Street Arts Festival more info to come on this one. We do know there will be an outdoor stage as well as use of the Halle Cultural Arts Center stage. Jordan Lake Farm: this is an outdoor setting which patrons can bring picnic meals and lawn chairs to watch the show. The stage is in a very big barn. The owner is seeking various groups of artists to perform at the farm. More info to come.
Hope Valley Rail Road Halloween train. Volunteers are needed to play "scary" characters along their Halloween trail. Hone your "evil-ness". If you are not an actor other help is needed such as make-up artists, props masters, etc.
Our inaugural show!! We are still looking to perform a 1920's Revue to tie into the early days of the Halle Cultural Arts Center. We are projecting to perform in the late fall. All talents are needed and more information to come.
If you have any interest in helping out with any, or all of these
events, please keep a watch for postings. Or better yet, come to a
meeting (Tues nights) and join in the planning. :) Hope to see you there!!
